KOTA
KINABALU, 10 April 2013 : The second edition of the Tour of Borneo, initially scheduled for
April 26 to 30, has now been rescheduled on August 18 to 22.
The
new dates have been approved by the International Cycling Union (UCI) upon
request by the organisers via the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF),
following the unavoidable postponement due to a clash with the 13th general
elections period.
Tour
of Borneo organising chairman Dato' Fredie Sua said the organisers are looking
forward to the second edition of the race being another success despite the
delay.
"We
have actually prepared for the race to go on as scheduled and it was all
systems go. We are all set, so the new dates are not a problem at all as we are
already fully prepared," said Dato' Fredie.
The
Tour of Borneo is a UCI 2.2 status race on the UCI Asia Tour calendar which was
first introduced last year, with it's inaugural edition won by New Zealand's
Michael Torckler of the Pure Black Racing Team.
