Officiating in a sponsorship presentation ceremony today at The Royal Chulan Damansara, Chairman of the Implementation Committee of the ASEAN Cycle Fest Y Bhg Datuk Prof. Hj Naim Mohamad, in thanking all sponsors, promised a successful inaugural edition of ASEAN Cycle Fest, stating the vital aspect of sponsorship as one of the key reasons behind the success of any sporting event.
“In reality, the event will not be complete without the support from the myriad of sponsors and we are very lucky to have such support in our inaugural edition. But at the same time we work hard to ensure that this is a relationship that doesn't just end here, at this ceremony.” Naim added.
“The event itself is a wonderful platform for companies to showcase and promote their products and services. Our aim is to strengthen the unity among ASEAN countries by bringing together the various key-players in the region involved in cycling, cycle-related supplies, sports clothing, bicycles, bicycle equipment and tools and so forth."
Cycling Malaysia has been confirmed as the Event Partner, while Le Coq sportif is the Official Cycling Sachoche. Official sponsors presented are 100PLUS, Ciclista, Sunplay, Rocktape, Deep Heating Rub, Fox, Motoshoot Cycling TV, Garmin and Inno Car Rack.
The event will have a carnival atmosphere to cater visitors of all ages; sponsors will be able to present their product and services throughout the three-day event.
Naim also highlighted that significantly today, the 22nd of September is also World Car Free Day. “It was last year that Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning was introduced and look how far we have come. It used to be held once a month, and now it’s the first and third Sunday of every month. More and more city folks are embracing the healthy lifestyle and at the same time reduce the pollution in the city.”
“We are indeed pleased to have OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad on board as the title sponsor for OCBC Cycle KL and partner for Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning.
The ASEAN Cycle Fest is managed by Multigreen Events, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and the Malaysian National Cycling Federation. The title sponsor for the 42km ride, OCBC Cycle KL 2015, is OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad. The Three-day cycling festival aims to bring together more than 50 of the top elite cyclists from the ASEAN region for the hour-long ASEAN Sprint King and another 3,000 serious riders for the 42km OCBC Cycle KL on Sunday (8 November).
